The Kaduna State Government is set to launch a new lawsuit against the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
The Kaduna High Court on Wednesday acquitted the teacher and ordered his release along with his wife Sayyada Zeenat.
A source at the Kaduna State Government House said the state Ministry of Justice was currently working on the case.
But when we contacted one of the lawyers defending the teacher, Barrister Sadau Garba, he said they had not yet received any confirmation about the date or time the government was planning to start the new case.
Harka Islamiyya spokesman Ibrahim Musa said they only saw the news in the newspaper, but had not yet been contacted about the new case.
Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife have spent more than four years in custody since being arraigned in court.
