The iPhone product instead will include eSIM support only for cellular network connection. The change could happen with the iPhone 14 family next year.

Apple has been providing eSIM support on iPhone products since the launch of the iPhone XS in September 2018.

Apparently, all iPhone products at this time have a Nano-SIM card slot with eSIM support.

citing a paper, MacRumors reports that Apple advised top US executives to prepare for eSIM mobile phones only in September. It is said that some retailers will start offering the iPhone 13 model option without the Nano-SIM card in the box in the second quarter of 2022 as part of the change. It is important to note that unlike previous models, the iPhone 13 series supports multiple eSIM data that supports dual-SIM support using eSIM. This means that users will be able to access two different networks on the new iPhone products without using their Nano-SIM cards. It could be the first as Apple is expected to switch to a full-fledged eSIM product next year.

A consultant
named Dylan on Twitter also tweeted to confirm Apple’s plan to remove physical SIM card support from iPhone products.

News reports that by removing the Nano-SIM SIM card slot, Apple may offer better resistance and improved performance on future iPhone products. It will also allow users to add other items instead of the actual SIM card slot.

Apple has not yet commented on this.
