The departure lounge Murtala Muhammed Worldwide Airport, Lagos was thrown into darkness late final evening, April 1 2022, as a result of energy outage.
A video taken on the airport throughout the outage reveals an airport employees apologising for the outage.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has now apologised over the incident which occurred whereas passengers have been boarding, resulting in a delay
In keeping with FAAN, the facility outage and explaining that it was due to the heavy rain.
The assertion posted through its official Twitter account reads: “FAAN needs to apologise to passengers and different airport customers that witnessed a brief energy outage on the Murtala Muhammed Worldwide Airport, Lagos, at about 2315hours yesterday, April 1, 2022.
“The outage, which was because of yesterday’s rain, that got here with very fierce winds and storms, a pure incidence, affected certainly one of our feeders, and consequently resulted within the short-term disruption of energy provide on the D wing of the airport.
“Nonetheless, our engineers rapidly found the fault, and liaised with the Ejigbo obligation/space management workplace of the Energy Holding Firm of Nigeria and collectively resolved the issue. Normalcy has since been restored on the affected space.”
