Security officer arrested for tearing Quran in Kano
Kano State Hisbah officers have arrested a younger safety guard for allegedly tearing off and stepping on parts of the Holy Quran.
The person mentioned to be in his early 20s was rescued from being lynched by members of his group on the Kuntau space of Kano metropolis.
He was subsequently handed over to the Kano state police command.
The state police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the incident which occurred on Sunday February 20.
He disclosed that the suspect continues to be in police custody.
