The daddy of Frank Akpan, the lead suspect within the homicide case of Akwa Ibom job seeker, Iniubong Umoren, has informed the court docket that his son is schizophrenic and an outpatient of the College of Uyo Instructing Hospital.

Frank Akpan is standing trial for being an adjunct to homicide, whereas his son, Uduak is charged with homicide and rape and his daughter, Bassey Anwan charged for harbouring her brother in her residence in Calabar in a bid to help him to flee justice.

Mr Frank Akpan in court docket as we speak claimed that on the day the stated incident occurred, he was in the home of his secondary college classmate at Uko Eshiet Road, Uyo and solely returned dwelling at about 7 pm, to be informed by his son that, there was an undisclosed medical emergency for which he suggested him to carry on until the following morning.

The accused who’s standing trial for accent stated his son then got here again and informed him that he was touring to Calabar earlier than he heard a knock on the gate of his home by policemen from Uruan Divisional Headquarters who later informed him that they had been looking for a lacking girl.

He informed the court docket that he took the police round his home and thereafter, was taken to the Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Uyo, the place he was detained, till his son was arrested and himself free of police custody.
