General Bashir Magashi has announced the names of those to be blamed for the security crisis in Nigeria

The Minister of Defense, Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi, has blamed politicians, traditional rulers and other stakeholders for the escalating insecurity in the country.

The Punch reported that the minister made the announcement on Thursday, July 29, during a one-day security conference organized by Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

The minister also blamed the security crisis on poor intelligence and a reluctance to act on the information provided, The Guardian reported.

He added that security stakeholders in the north, who appeared to be at loggerheads with militants, robbers and kidnappers, were at loggerheads.

He called on the perpetrators of the violence in the country to immediately withdraw or face the consequences.

The Minister of Defense also commented on President Buhari’s statement in the most understood language

We have previously said that President Muhammadu Buhari was right to say that he would deal with criminals who plague the country “in the language they understand” according to Nigerian Defense Minister Bashir Magashi.

According to the defense minister, there is nothing wrong with the president eliminating those who want to destabilize the country, the minister said.

Continuing his statement, he vowed that criminals in the country would be punished because the law would treat them properly.
