The FAHR stated that the Hijri New Year holiday for federal government employees will be observed on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

“Hijri New Year Holiday – carried over – for the year 1443 in the Federal Government will be on Thursday, August 12,” the tweet read.

We report there has been no official announcement yet regarding Hijri New Year holidays for the private sector.

However, according to a previous decree issued by the UAE cabinet, all public and private sector employees have the same number of public holidays.

Arewanmu understands that the upcoming holiday would mark the second extended weekend of holidays for employees in the country as the Eid Al Adha break last month was observed from Monday, July 19 until Thursday, July 22, leading into the weekend.
