Arsenal legend Paul Merson has said the loser of the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Liverpool on Sunday will ‘one hundred million percent’ be out of the title race.
Many believe the title race is already over with Manchester City opening 11 points gap between them and second-placed Chelsea after beating Arsenal 2-1 on Saturday.
But Merson feels there is still a chance for either Liverpool or Chelsea to catch up with Pep Guardiola’s side.
He, however, made it very clear that whoever suffers defeat between the two contenders is out of the title race for this season.
Going into Sunday’s clash, Chelsea is one point above Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat in the hands of Leicester City last week.
“I don’t see a problem for the top four for Chelsea but tomorrow is a cup final,” Merson told Sky Sports.
Whoever loses[Liverpool vs Chelsea]is completely and utterly out of the title race, one hundred million percent. There is no way back.’
